Bassendean's Shane Young reaches 300 games Fri, September 13, 2019 - 1:47 PM

This Saturday 14 September Bassendean player Shane Young will play his 300th game in the C1 Grand Final at East Fremantle Oval. 

Shane commenced at Bassendean AFC in 2003 as a 16 year old colts player. He captained the Colts in 2005 in the B Grade Grand Final losing by two points. 

Shane won the League fairest and best in 2008 and is a recipient of the clubs Borg Memorial Trophy.

He has played with all three of his brothers over the years with his most memorable moments being winning the 2014 League Premiership playing alongside two of his brothers, Daniel & Darren as well as winning the 2017 C2 Premiership against Gosnells on the same day his 12 year old son won his Bassendean Junior football club Grand Final. 

He has coached Bassendean JFC year 9's the past two seasons finishing as runner up in last years Grand Final and reaching this year's Grand Final, which will be played this sunday. 

Shane has been a committee member for Bassendean Amateur Football Club for the past 10 seasons and is currently the Co-Vice President. He has been the umpire coordinator for much of this time for the Seniors and is also a Life Member of the Bassendean AFC.
