Gosnells Hawks donate footballs to local junior clubs Tue, June 1, 2021 - 3:11 PM

Gosnells Hawks Football Club have kindly donated $1500 worth of Burley Footballs to their two local junior clubs, Gosnells and Huntingdale.

Hawk’s President Michael McCaughan said, “It is really important to give support to Junior Clubs for the critical role they play introducing people to the code and that their players were the future lifeblood of our club.”

In a bid to help assist the transition of local players, the Hawks appointed former WAFL player and Club Coach Steve Davis as a Liaison Officer between them and the two Junior Football Clubs. Steve’s duties are to provide support to the Junior Clubs and to create a pathway to senior football for the youth of the district.

“Our goal is to make the player’s transition to our club as seamless as possible and we want to make them and their families ‘get a feel’ for our family club so that they feel at home here” he said.

Both junior club presidents thanked the Hawks for the footballs and looked forward to a fruitful relationship with the Hawks which hopefully results in more local players staying involved with the game.
