2021 State Coach Announcements Wed, June 9, 2021 - 12:06 PM

The Perth Football League is delighted to announce the appointment of Beau Waters as Head Coach for the CTF Women's State team and Darren Young as Head Coach for the Men's State team.

Beau Waters is a former West Coast Eagles premiership player and vice-captain who played a total of 120 games for the club. Waters was named in the All-Australian team in 2012 and was awarded the Chris Mainwaring Award for Best Clubman in 2009. Renowned for his courage and phyiscal style of play, Waters was a strong contributor for a decade, although had an unforntunate run with injuries that eventually led to his premature retirement at the age of 28.

Darren Young has had an affiliation with the Perth Football League for over 15 years as a player and coach. Young has tasted premiership success with Bassendean in 2019 (C1), 2018 (C2) and 2012 (Laurie Keene Colts). Last year he coached the B Grade team to a preliminary final.

The State Matches will take place on Friday 23 July with the Perth Football League taking on the WA Country Football League under lights at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. The night will include the first Women's State team for both Leagues at 6:15pm, followed by the Men's State teams at 7:30pm. Free Entry.
