2021 A Grade Grand Finals Wed, September 15, 2021 - 5:31 PM

The biggest day in the Perth Football calendar is here!

The 2021 A Grade Grand Finals are this Saturday 18 September at Steel Blue Oval and we have plenty planned to celebrate our 100th year of amateur football.

  • The AFL Premiership Cup will be at Steel Blue Oval with photo opportunities.
  • Siren Sessions brought to you by Carlton Dry live and loud with DJs, Can Bars, Bean Bags, Marquees and Merch up for grabs!
  • Toss of the coin by AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan.

It will be a massive triple header at Bassendean, starting with Collegians and University in the Phil Scott Colts at 10am.

North Beach take on Curtin Uni Wesley in the A Reserves from 12.15pm followed by the main event at 2.30pm.

Kingsway are playing in their maiden A Grade decider, 12 years since crossing from the Metro Football League Sunday competition when they were called Wanneroo.

Minor premiers Curtin Uni Wesley last won the Sandover Shield in 2013 and had a stint in the B Grade in between before earning promotion in 2019.

The Tigers have some serious talent in their side including former Essendon and South Fremantle goalsneak Cory Dell’Olio, former Carlton/South Fremantle defender Mitch Carter and fellow ex-WAFL players Shaun Bewick, Tim Stewart, Rhett Mason, Brennan Gillam and Jarrod Parry.

The Roos have been bolstered by mid-season recruits Lachlan Vanirsen, who won the Jack Clarke Medal as the WAFL colts’ fairest-and-best player last year, fellow Subiaco premiership colts Jaxon McGowan, Trey Kennedy and senior-experienced defender Ben Reid.

Subiaco league premiership players Kyle Halligan, Rhys Waters, forward-ruck Adam Creeper and in-form pressure forward Matt Jackson are among the other players to watch for Kingsway.

Matt Jackson was also a part of the 2021 State PFL side that took on the Country League in July, along with teammates James Eccles and Braydn Furmark.

A Grade leading goal kicker James Corner will also be one to watch for Curtin Uni Wesley, kicking a total of 54 goals this year.

All three games will be live streamed on the Perth Football League Facebook page and the A Grade match will also be broadcasted on ABC Radio.

$15 Admission (Free for children 15 and under). Entry includes a 100 Year Commemorative Grand Final Programme.

All attendees are encouraged to bring second hand books to donate to a book sale raising funds for women's refuges. Construction Training Fund staff will be parked at both entrances of Steel Blue Oval to collect.
