100 Year Virtual History Website

Through the generous support of Lotterywest, the Perth Football League have launched a virtual history website as we commemorate 100 years of amateur football in 2021.

Beginning in 1922, the League has grown from a small six team competition played amongst local businesses to be the single largest football league in Western Australia with 300 teams and 12,000 players.

This website captures the premiers, award winners, clubs, characters and stories of our League over these memorable 100 years.

Amateur football has brought together some great West Australians who have contributed greatly in society from Premiers to AFL Premiership players. To acknowledge these individuals, a list of 100 notable high achievers that have passed through the League was compiled and can be found on the website along with interviews from some of the members of this list such as Richard Goyder, Colin Barnett, Gary Buckenara, Bill Duckworth and more.
