2025 Life Without Barriers Integrated Grand Final Recap

B DIVISION:

The life without barriers integrated grand finals had finally arrived last Saturday. First up was the B division grand final which featured Fremantle CBC and North Beach. With the stands packed and the sun shining, it was a perfect day for football.

The game got off to a slow start with both team struggling to find the goals. North Beach will take the early lead before Fremantle CBC would come out in a second quarter blitz. A low scoring affair saw CBC lead 15 to 8 before a costly mistake would see a goal taken off North beach for having to many players on the field which would result in a 15 to 2 half time score line.

North Beach would then respond in the third quarter and would lead going into the final break. Up by five points, the North Beach team were up and about and was ready for a big last quarter. CBC would begin to pepper the goals but would struggle to find the goal they needed until Blake Stransky would slot one through with about two minutes left. This would then give CBC the premiership win and their first flag since 2013.

A DIVISION:

It was time for Kingsway and Kelmscott to do battle for the Peter Grosser cup and the a division premiership. Kelmscott got off to a quick start with a goal by Fraser Kickett inside the first 30 seconds, Kingsway would then dominate the latest stages of the quarter and hold a three-point lead at the first break.

With both coaches pleased as to how the first quarter went, the start of the second was very much a deadlock with Kingsway kicking the only goal of the quarter. Kelmscott would find three behind to be down by six points at the main break.

The third quarter was dominated by Kingsway as they would find three goals to Kelmscott one, it was Kingsway’s grand final to lose from there.

With a 17-point lead, Kingsway knew they had one hand on the cup. Kelmscott came out with an attacking mindset, but the Kingsway defence was just too strong and as the clock wound down Kingsway knew they had won their first premiership since 2014.
