A five-goal third quarter proved decisive for Swan Athletic as they claimed premiership spoils over Kalamunda at HIF Health Insurance Oval.

Turning a halftime deadlock into a 21-point advantage at the final change, the Swans extended their lead into a 35-point victory, winning 7.10 (52) to 2.5 (17).

The victory rounded out an undefeated season for Swan Athletic.

The Cougars made the stronger start to the decider, kicking two goals in the opening term to lead Swan Athletic by seven points at quarter time.

The game tightened considerably in the second quarter, with Swan Athletic drawing level at 2.3 (15) apiece by the main break.

Sam Weymouth and Carlos Partington led the scoring for Swan Athletic with three goals each, while Adam Sandrini slotted one. 

Alessio Masella and vice-captain Ben Shanahan both kicked a goal apiece for Kalamunda.

Swan Athletic’s Tyson Borg was awarded Best on Ground for his performance in the premiership victory.

EGT Ian Dargie Colts

Wanneroo survived a scare from Mosman Park to wrap up an undefeated season, overturning a two-point three-quarter time deficit to claim a 29-point win at Bassendean Oval.

After kicking just three goals in the opening three terms, the Roos produced a dominant final quarter when it mattered most, piling on five unanswered goals in the last while keeping the Mozzies scoreless to emerge victorious 8.8 (56) to 4.3 (27).

Entering the game as an outside chance, Mosman Park held a narrow lead for the first three terms but could not establish a meaningful break on Wanneroo.

It was the closest anyone had come all season to pipping the ruthless Roos, who finished the home-and-away season top with a percentage of 666. 

Sam Collins led Wanneroo’s attack with three goals, Josh Dwyer kicked two, while Tyson Phillips, Jaxon Callcott and Brayden Phillips each added one. 

Will Duplock kicked two for Mosman Park, with captain William Howie also contributing a goal.

Wanneroo wingman Riley Stringer was awarded Best on Ground for his performance in the Grand Final victory.

EGT Laurie Keene Colts

Kingsley held off a determined Swan View outfit to claim the Laurie Keene Colts premiership by seven points in a closely fought Grand Final.

The Swans nearly chewed off the Cats’ lead in a desperate final term, but Kingsley would hold on to win, 6.12 (48) to 6.5 (41).

Kingsley made the stronger start, leading by six points at quarter time before opening up a 16-point advantage by the main break.

Swan View responded strongly after half-time, kicking three goals in the third quarter to reduce the margin to 12 points at the final change. 

They continued to push in the last quarter, adding another two goals, but a major to Denver Antoluv was enough to secure the win for Kingsley.

Ben Kimberley kicked two goals for Kingsley, with Ashtyn Brooker-Seinor, Marshall Linto and Sam Angell also adding one. 

James Ford, vice-captain William Lynch, George Lambert and Travis Lee all hit the scoreboard for Swan View.

Marshall Linto capped off the premiership victory by being awarded Best on Ground for Kingsley.

EGT Brett Jones Colts

A final quarter stampede delivered 4th-placed Scarborough an unlikely premiership triumph over minor premiers Warnbro at Gosnells Oval. 

Trailing at three-quarter time, Scarborough piled on the first four goals of the final term to set up a 9.5 (59) to 7.6 (48) win.

The Swans had no answer for opportunistic Scarborough forward Levi Natalotto, who had the Midas touch in the game’s final stanza, finishing his day with four goals in a performance that saw him adjudged best on ground.

With just five points separating the sides at the final break, the game seemed as if it might be headed for another draw like the side’s last meeting back in Round 18.

But Natalotto gave his side the lead for the first time since the opening term, getting free inside 50 to snap two decisive majors as his team began to blanket Warnbro defensively.

It rounded out a finals golden run from Scarborough, who defeated Wanneroo, High Wycombe and Roleystone to qualify for the decider.

Diezel Walsh led the way for Warnbro, both of his goals coming from outside 50 bombs.

Aidan West, Eric Smith, Jacob Langley, Ben Thompson and Declan Capitano-Ward all also added goals for the Swans.

EGT West Coast Colts

Swan Athletic claimed its second successive West Coast Colts flag when it came from behind to defeat Mt Lawley by nine points at Wanneroo Showgrounds on Saturday morning.

Entering halftime level, the Swans kicked three goals to Mt Lawley’s one in a pivotal third term to establish an eight-point advantage at the final change, a lead they would hold at the final siren, 11.5 (71) to 9.8 (62).

The Hawks started the game strongly, kicking three goals in the opening quarter to lead by six points at the first change. 

Jaydin Armstrong was outstanding around goal for Swan Athletic, kicking five majors, while Michael Gill added two. 

Mt Lawley shared the scoring load, with Jai Katz kicking three and Jake Piani and Max Rowe contributing two each.

Armstrong’s five-goal performance was recognised with Best on Ground honours, capping off a memorable Grand Final for the Swan Athletic forward.

It was Swan Athletic’s second Colts flag of the day after their Drew Banfield side also secured premiership honours.
