2026 PFL Awards Night: Celebrating the League’s Best

A crowd of 1,000 turned out in style for the Perth Football League’s 2026 Awards Night at Crown Perth on Monday, 7 September, making it the League’s largest Awards Night to date.
The evening celebrated the Fairest & Best players from across the League, while also recognising the volunteers, coaches, umpires, administrators and clubs whose contributions continue to shape and drive community football forward.
Curtin Uni Wesley’s Kyle Hamersley capped off an outstanding season by claiming the CJ Jamieson Medal as the Budget Car & Truck Rental Men’s A Grade Fairest & Best. Hamersley polled 22 votes to edge out Kingsway’s Lachlan Vanirsen and North Beach’s Alexander Marklew, who tied for second on 21 votes.
In the A Grade Women’s competition, the top honour was shared, with Trinity Aquinas’ Nadia Pisano and Curtin Uni Wesley’s Leanne Gubbins crowned joint Fairest & Best winners after both polling 24 votes. History-maker Parris Laurie finished close behind on 20 votes.
The night also celebrated the outstanding contributions of the League’s umpires. Leigh Retallack was named Field Umpire of the Year, Lachlan Cobb received Club Umpire of the Year and Aiden Case was awarded Boundary Umpire of the Year. Jason Tyrrell continued his impressive run, claiming Goal Umpire of the Year for the third consecutive season.
Off the field, Wembley was recognised with the Ron Webster Memorial Award as Champion Senior Club, while Swan Athletic secured the TK Naylor Award as Champion Colts Club. Baldivis Secretary Chelsee Christianus was named Administrator of the Year for her tireless efforts behind the scenes, while Wanneroo C1 Men’s League Coach Daniel Acres was recognised as Coach of the Year.
The night also saw the inaugural Camera House PFL Image of the Year crowned, with Jamie Donald’s More Than Footy taking out the award. Captured during Forrestfield’s NAIDOC Round, the image showcases players gathered around the Aboriginal-coloured centre circle, celebrating the connection between football, culture and community.
