Containers for Change Returns for the 2026 PFL Grand Finals

The Perth Football League is encouraging the community to recycle their eligible containers at Grand Final venues throughout the 2026 HIF PFL Finals Series, with Containers for Change returning as an Official Grand Final Activation Partner.
Across the PFL Grand Finals, players, supporters, volunteers and spectators are being asked to play their part by placing eligible drink containers in the dedicated Containers for Change bins at available at participating venues.
With thousands of people expected to attend Grand Finals across the coming weeks, every container collected can make a difference.
Rather than eligible cans and bottles ending up in general waste, the PFL is encouraging everyone attending a Grand Final to look for the Containers for Change collection points and give their containers another life.
PFL CEO Andrew Dawe said the partnership provided a simple way for the football community to make a positive contribution throughout the Finals Series.
“Grand Finals bring thousands of people together across our venues, and naturally that means a significant number of drink containers are used across the day,” Dawe said.
“We’re asking everyone attending our Grand Finals to take that extra moment to make sure their eligible containers go into the Containers for Change bin rather than general waste.
“It’s a really simple action, but when you multiply it across thousands of players, volunteers and supporters throughout the Finals Series, it can have a significant impact.
“We’re pleased to have Containers for Change supporting our Grand Finals again in 2026 and helping us make recycling part of the Grand Final experience.”
The partnership will see the PFL work directly with Grand Final host clubs to support container collections, while Containers for Change messaging will also feature across PFL Grand Final broadcasts, digital channels and at participating venues.
The program also provides an opportunity for PFL clubs to benefit from eligible container returns throughout the year, with the League set to recognise the club that records the highest number of eligible returns through Containers for Change at the 2026 PFL Awards Night.
WA Return Recycle Renew Limited, Chief Growth Officer Tasha Sheldrick said the partnership was a great example of how collecting containers could deliver meaningful benefits to local sporting clubs and the environment.
“Football clubs play such an important role in bringing people together, and this partnership gives footballers and supporters a really easy way to get behind their club while doing something good for the environment,” Mrs Sheldrick said.
“We’re encouraging everyone heading along to PFL Grand Finals to keep an eye out for the Containers for Change bins and make sure their eligible containers go in the right place on game day.
“It’s a small action, but when thousands of people get involved, those containers can add up to valuable fundraising for local clubs, while also helping to keep recyclable materials out of landfill.”
