Curtin Uni Wesley to Mark 15 Years of Pink Tiger Day Supporting the McGrath Foundation

This Saturday, Curtin Uni Wesley will host its 15th annual Pink Tiger Day, raising over $550,000 so far for the McGrath Foundation’s mission of helping those with cancer — making it the largest community club fundraiser for the Foundation in Australia.
From corporate sponsors to auctions and ticket sales, Pink Tiger Day grows bigger every year — and for those who can’t make it, a donation page gives everyone a chance to get involved.
“Like all of our members, I feel lucky to be part of a club that’s been able to build something of this scale off the back of grassroots effort. To see what it’s become, and the impact it’s had in supporting the McGrath Foundation, is pretty special,” Club President Michael Searle said.
The club puts on a show for Pink Tiger Day, and this year is no different, with a huge marquee, top-tier food, inclusive drinks, guest speakers, live music and an after-party.
“It’s turned into a genuine marquee event, not just for our club, but for a lot of people in the wider community. It’s something people put in their calendar well in advance and plan around,” Searle said.
For the first time, the Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Women, A Grade Men and Life Without Barriers Integrated side will all take to the field back-to-back-to-back wearing the iconic pink Curtin Uni Wesley jumper.
“For us as a club, the day means a lot more than football. It’s a chance for everyone involved to contribute to something genuinely meaningful and give back to the community,” Searle said.
With a great weather forecast for the day, a huge crowd is expected as players, families, sponsors, past players and members of the community all turn out to be part of something bigger than the game.
“If you’re on the fence, I’d just say come down and see it for yourself. It’s a great day full of good footy, great people, plenty of laughs, and you’re part of something that’s making a real difference. And if you can’t make it, even a small donation goes a long way in supporting the McGrath Foundation,” Searle said.
The Perth Football League would like to once again congratulate Curtin Uni Wesley and all those involved in running such a genuinely meaningful day. Showing that community footy is so much more than a game, it can be the life-changing difference people need.
