Kingsley Amateur Football Club Auction Night

On May 10th at 7.30pm the Kingsley Amateur Football Club? is holding a Sporting Memorabilia Auction night to raise funds to support Matt (Moe) Gregory, at the clubrooms on Kingsley Drive.

Moe has been a very popular bloke and member of the Kingsley club since his Auskick days.? He turned 21 yesterday.? Moe was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks ago and started chemo last week, he’s a pretty sick young man with some serious health challenges ahead.

In a show of support, the players launched a “Grow a Mo for Moe” fundraiser and are seeking sponsorship to grow a moustache.? There will be a shave-off at the clubrooms on June 1.? Another of his teammates created a ‘Facebook’ site so Moe can track the progress of the facial hair from his hospital bed.? Not a pretty sight around the club at the moment.? Roll on 1 June.

We hope the Auction night is a roaring success as all funds raised will be donated to cover Moe’s medical expenses and loss of income.

Auction items generously donated and collected by Moe’s teammates include a Carlton No 5 jumper signed by Chris Judd, a signed Carlton jumper worn in the night Grand Final by Brendan Fevola, an Essendon jumper signed by Matthew Lloyd, Eagles items, Glory items, Dockers items, Aussie Cricket items, wine, dinner vouchers and much more.

There have already been many generous donations with the ‘Moe’ Tip Jar at the bar overflowing.? The game of footy that binds these ordinary young people like ‘glue’ is proudly on show again in grass roots footy.
