Match of the Week – Bassendean v Kinglsey

The Keystart Home Loans Match of the Week will feature C Grade combatants Bassendean and Kinglsey at Jubilee Reserve.? Both teams currently sit in the top five and will see this game as a good test of character against a fellow finals contender.

Bassendean went into the 2008 season with the simple goal of being competitive across all grades after a disappointing 2007 campaign.? Numbers are strong and all teams have a full list to select from which has League, Reserves, Colts and Thirds fighting for finals.

Lead by Captain Jesse Pearce and strong seasons from Darren Young and Ash Wedding, with the latter kicking 56 goals in only eight games, the League team is confident of continuing their good form as they close in on the last third of the home and away season. Facing second placed Kinglsey this weekend will be a big test for this young side and with the competition so even the boys from Bassendean are hungry for a win.

Kingsley have enjoyed a strong start to the season and are a three games and a very strong percentage clear in second spot having only lost the 2 matches to round ten.? The undefeated Swan View will be difficult to catch but to have any chance of doing so Kinglsey can’t afford to drop this match.

The Bassendean Football Club social scene is strong this season with great numbers back at the club for presentations each Saturday.? Saturday 19th July will be the annual quiz night with 170 tickets already sold for what is sure to be a great event.
