Match of the Week – Trinity Aquinas v Whitford

The Keystart Home Loans match of the week for round four is the A grade match between Trinity Aquinas and Whitford at Bill Grayden Reserve.

Home team Trinity Aquinas will want revenge against Whiford, the team who eliminated the Boomers in the first round of the finals last year at MacDonald Reserve 8.8 (56) to the Warriors’ 12.12 (84).

The fourth finishing Whitford went on to the semifinals before losing to Wesley Curtin by 45 points.

Both teams are coming into this weekend after losses in round three; Whitford against North Beach by five points and Trinity Aquinas by 43 against University.

2008 A Grade leading goal kicker Tyson Feist was scoreless last week against North Beach after kicking three goals in both previous games for Whitford and will certainly need to have an impact on the score board if the Warriors are to take the win from Trinity Aquinas.

Similarly, after a four goal haul in their round one loss to Fremantle CBC Whitford’s Ben Bizzaca has kicked just three in the last two matches to tie for second on the A grade goal kicking leaderboard, one more than teammate Feist.

After winning just five of their nine home games last season, Trinity Aquinas will want to establish home ground dominance especially after a thrilling five point loss at Grayden Reserve against North Fremantle in round two.

In 2009 the Trinity Aquinas Football Club is celebrating its 40th season as a member of the Western Australian Amateur Football League, and they are coordinating a 40-year reunion this Saturday.

The festivities will commence at 1.30pm, with free drinks provided between 1.30 and 2.30, happy hour prices through the A-grade match, and food being served across the afternoon. Halftime entertainment will feature guest speakers and unique raffle and auction items, including a trip for two to the 2009 AFL Grand Final, courtesy of Scout Entertainment. Club merchandise will also be available on the day. The revelry will continue into the evening with presentations at 5.30pm, when some of the raffle items will be drawn.
