PFL Clubs Raise Over $250,000 for Community Causes in 2024

In the heart of local communities, football is more than just a sport – it’s a powerful force for good. Each year, clubs across the Perth Football League go above and beyond to support local and national causes, raising vital funds for charities and initiatives that make a real difference.
The efforts of our member clubs are nothing short of inspiring. From dedicated rounds, such as the NAIDOC and Pride Rounds, to family-oriented fundraisers like Ballajura’s Jim’s Family Day in support of the Cancer Council WA, the impact is felt far and wide. And these examples are just the tip of the iceberg. We estimate that collectively, our clubs fundraise more than $250,000 each year.
While some events are aligned with national campaigns, others are driven by local community needs. For instance, clubs have raised funds for health initiatives like Canning South Perth, Forrestdale, Kenwick, Kingsway, North Beach, North Fremantle and Roleystone all driving funds to fighting MND.

Clubs such as Willetton, Winnacott, Wanneroo, Scarborough, Osborne Park and Wembley put significant effort into creating positive conversations around important societal issues, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to supporting their neighbours.
Each and every club have given back to their community, providing a space for everyone and generating fundraising for important causes.
Beyond the numbers, the real value lies in the relationships built and the sense of togetherness fostered through these efforts. Football brings people together, not just on the field but in the shared goal of making the community a better place.
The Perth Football League is incredibly proud of its clubs and their community-minded initiatives. These efforts highlight the role football plays in fostering unity and giving back to the community.
