Budget Car and Truck Rental A Grade Men

Scarborough 9.10 (64) defeated by Ocean Ridge 12.7 (79)

Scarborough will play B Grade footy for the first time since 2015 after they went down by 15 points to Ocean Ridge in a cut-throat final-round relegation battle at Millington Reserve.

Reece Jolliffe sealed the game with a late major for the visitors, running into an open goal to snuff out their opposition’s late charge in front of a boisterous crowd.

Five-time Sandover Shield winners going back as recently as 2020, Scarborough lost two crucial matches against fellow relegation candidates in the past fortnight, condemning them to ninth spot and automatic relegation.

Francis Toovey was valiant in the loss with 20 disposals and 105 ranking points.

Despite having fewer clearances and inside 50s than their opponents, Lachlan Dellamarta (24 disposals) and Nathan French (4 goals) ensured Ocean Ridge’s survival in hostile territory.

Mt Lawley 4.3 (27) defeated by Kingsway 18.13 (121)

The Roos will enter finals football next week with superb confidence, defeating Mt Lawley by 94 points away from home.

Kingsway were rarely troubled in their fourth consecutive win, kicking eight goals in the second term to take a 68-point lead at half-time.

State representative Blake Morris starred for the Roos with five majors, his biggest bag of the season.

Lachlan Vanirsen (34 disposals) topped the stats sheet for Kingsway as they prepare for an elimination final clash against University next week.

Although it was a disappointing finish to the Hawks’ year, two wins in the final half of the season already guaranteed the 2025 B Grade champs would avoid relegation from the PFL’s top flight, finishing the year in 8th position. 

Trinity Aquinas 5.5 (35) defeated by North Beach 17.12 (114)

Odds on favourites now to claim back-to-back flags, the Tigers showed why they were this season’s minor premiers, beating the Boomers by 79 points.

North Beach kicked the first nine goals to set up the comfortable win.

Former WAFL talent Frank Anderson (39 disposals) and Drew Rohde (32 disposals) racked up the possessions as the Tigers finished the game with 123 more disposals than their opposition.

After a promising last few weeks for Trinity Aquinas, it was a sour way to close out 2026, finishing the year in sixth spot and 14 points out of the finals.

Jordan Leeson was the top ball winner for the Boomers, with 26 touches.

Finishing the season in first spot, North Beach will now have a week’s rest before they tackle the winner of Fremantle C.B.C and Curtin Uni Wesley in a home second semi-final.

Fremantle C.B.C 13.11 (89) defeated Baldivis 7.8 (50)

Second-placed C.B.C denied the wooden spoon-bound Brumbies a fond farewell from A Grade, finishing 39-point winners to sew up a home final next week.

Despite being tested all day by Baldivis, C.B.C blitzed the visitors in the air, finishing with 58 more marks than their opposition.

Dillon O’Reilly took ten grabs and booted six majors for the home side, while teammate Cody Smith led all comers with 23 touches and 129 ranking points.

Jack Mathey had 26 disposals and four tackles for Baldivis as they look towards a future return to the A Grade competition from B next season.

University 9.4 (58) defeated Curtin Uni Wesley 10.6 (66)

Spoils of this potential early finals preview went to the Tigers, as they outlasted a fast-finishing Uni by 8 points to lock in third position on the A Grade ladder.

University won the second half six goals to three, but couldn’t undo Curtin Uni Wesley’s early dominance as both hope for deep runs into September.

Kyle Hamersley (27 disposals) and Kade Stewart (19 disposals, 5 marks) were both critical for Curtin Uni Wesley.

State rep Cyrus Upson found lots of the footy again with 28 disposals, 15 of them contested.

University will host Kingsway in this week’s elimination final.

University 3.1 (19) defeated Trinity Aquinas 0.5 (5)

The reigning premiers flexed their muscles in a statement win over the Boomers.

The Stormers gave Trinity Aquinas a taste of their own medicine, ensuring the defensive powerhouses did not score a major in their closely contested 14-point victory.

The Boomers have held five teams goalless this season.

Tarnica Stewart had 26 disposals in the win, while Abbey Waddell tried hard all day for Trinity Aquinas, finishing with 22 disposals and four inside 50s. 

The loss means TA’s slipped down to second place on the ladder, meaning they will face University again this Saturday in a home qualifying final.

North Beach 4.8 (32) defeated Hamersley Carine 3.3 (21)

A last-quarter push from the Hawks was not enough to secure them a third win of the season, going down by 11 points to the Tigers.

North Beach held Hamersley Carine scoreless in a dominant third quarter that set up the win, as Jade Hall, Charlotte Viney and Jay Ainsworth all bagged majors.

Sienna Joubert dominated in the ruck all day for the victors with 26 disposals and 39 hitouts.

In the final game of the season for both sides, state captain Amy Hunt had the ball 26 times for the Hawks, while Jasmin Barram also had 12 tackles and 104 ranking points in the loss.

North Fremantle 5.4 (34) defeated by Curtin Uni Wesley 6.1 (37)

A final quarter goal from Hope Ugle-Hayward propelled the Tigers back into top spot at the last gasp, securing the minor premiership in a thrilling three-point win over the Magpies. 

Trailing at half-time, Curtin Uni Wesley kicked the final three majors of the match to steal first back following Trinity Aquinas’ defeat to University.

The match-winner by Ugle-Hayward was one of 21 disposals the WAFLW star had, finishing the day with a game-high 115 ranking points.

Katrina Tinson and Ava Ritchie combined for four majors for North Fremantle in the narrow defeat.

Quinns District 3.3 (21) defeated by Wembley 3.6 (24)

The Bulls were denied a finals berth in a heartbreaking three-point loss to the Magpies.

A late set shot by forward Natalie Bennett brought the margin to under a goal with just minutes remaining, but a plucky Wembley were able to hold on. 

North Fremantle’s close defeat at the hands of Curtin Uni Wesley meant Quinns could have leapt up into the top five.

Parris Laurie was once again colossal in the ruck for the Magpies with 23 disposals and 176 ranking points.

Michelle Smith had 27 touches for the gallant Bulls, who missed out on finals only on percentage.

Melville 5.8 (38) defeated Baldivis 1.4 (10)

The Rams were too strong for the Brumbies in another final-round relegation rumble, defeating Baldivis by 28 points to send them packing from A Grade.

Isabella Strnadica (27 disposals) led the way once more for Melville as teammate Abbey Hicks (41 hitouts) controlled the ruck battle.

The win scraped the Rams four points clear into safety.

Scout McCormack had 28 disposals for the Brumbies as they mull over what could have been following a frustrating backup from last year’s A Grade grand final berth.

After going down to their opponents just two weeks ago, a deadly-accurate Cockburn Lakes flipped the script on West Coast to keep their season alive, defeating the Tigers by 23 points at Anning Park, 15.3 (93) to 10.10 (70)

Harry Gibb took an enormous mark of the year contender on the wing, Joshua Grant dominated up forward with six majors, and captain Jacques Barwick bagged three goals in a win that sets the Warriors up against Brentwood Booragon in this week’s qualifying final.

The Bulldogs persisted hard against North Fremantle in their qualifying final at Gil Fraser Reserve, but the Magpies class won out, blowing their opposition away in a five-goal third term to emerge victorious 13.6 (84) to 7.9 (51).

Ethan Paholski kicked seven majors in the win, and will be someone Whitford will be paying close attention to in this weekend’s second semi-final at MacDonald Reserve, with a grand final spot on the line.

Brentwood Booragon will host Cockburn Lakes in the elimination first semi-final, with the winner to move through to the preliminary final.

Budget Car and Truck Rental B Grade Women

Minor premiers Scarborough have booked their tickets to HIF Insurance Oval, defeating Kwinana 9.4 (58) to 3.2 (20) to be the first side to qualify for this season’s Grand Final.

Amy Fortescue kicked five for the home side, bookending the day with its first and last majors.

Chloe Metcalf was also impressive, kicking three first-half goals, including a long-range drop punt moments before the quarter-time siren.

In the curtain raiser, Bullcreek Leeming comprehensively accounted for a goalless Swan Athletic in a 76-point victory that sends them into this week’s preliminary final against the Knights.

Playing against persistent rain, the Bombers were far cleaner than their opponents in the slippery conditions as Jenelle Heard, Keira Kennedy and Jacinta Stevens all bagged three goals apiece in the 11.13 (79) to 0.3 (3) win.

Swan Athletic struggled to move the ball forward against their opponent’s miserley pressure, resigning them to a straight-sets exit from the finals after qualifying in second spot.

Kwinana will host Bullcreek Leeming at Medina Oval in Saturday afternoon’s preliminary final.

Budget Car and Truck Rental C1 Men

Wembley have set up a clash against undefeated minor premiers Wanneroo in this week’s second semi-final, comfortably defeating Hamersley Carine in last week’s qualifying final at home 18.9 (117) to 3.4 (22).

League-leading goalscorer Josh Richards continued his prime season in front of the big sticks with another five goals, with teammate Benjamin Schuhkraft also kicking four majors. 

The Magpies have been one of the only teams to trouble the peerless Roos this season, but will travel up to Wanneroo Showgrounds with a big task ahead of them.

It was a harsh reality check for the Hawks, who have now lost to both top sides in the past fortnight by a combined margin of 170 points.

They will host this week’s first semi-final against Thornlie after the Lions knocked off Kwinana 15.9 (99) to 8.5 (53) in Saturday’s elimination final at Medina Oval.

The Knights held the lead at quarter time, but the game swung Thornlie’s way in the second term as they added five unanswered goals to take a commanding 49-point lead at the beginning of the third.

Cooper Shord kicked seven goals, while Smith brothers Oscar and Bailey combined for five majors in the Lions’ win.

Head-to-head in this week’s semi-final, Hamersley Carine and Thornlie have split the ledger one win apiece in their two meetings so far this season, with the Hawks winning by 25 points in the most recent fixture, their sole victory against another top five side.
