VAFA Win State Clash

THE West Coast Eagles State amateur under 23’s have been defeated by the Victorian Amateur Football Association despite a gallant fight back in the final quarter.

The VAFA got out to an early lead but were unable to kick clear of the West Coast Eagles State Amateur 23’s, who remained in touch by nine points at the first break and 15 at the major change.

After half time the tide turned and the Big V, who had kicked 7 goals 13 to that stage, kicked 6 goals 3 to lead by 33 points heading into the last.

The Wes Coast Eagles State Amateur under 23’s, led by Benjamin Grace, Luke Conca and Jamie Del Borrello refused to give up, cutting the margin back to 10 points during the final term.

It proved too little too late however, Victoria claiming the win and bragging rights by 26 points.
